
Fasching/Karneval
Kinderschule is hosting a party Friday February 24th, 2006 celebrating the German cultural event known as Fasching, Karneval and a number of other names in various parts of the German-speaking world.
Karnival is a colourful and exciting regional festival throughout the world. In the German-speaking world, it is celebrated in different ways according to different local traditions.
Fasching is a term used widely in München (Munich) and throughout Austria. Karneval is the term used in the Rhineland area of Germany. Mainz celebrates Fastnacht. There are numerous local variations, most of the celebrations comprising a great deal of light-hearted fun.
Our event will take the form of a costume party and potluck dinner starting at 5 PM, at Kinderschule, at St. George's Church at the corner of Wilton and Grosvenor Streets.
Bring your children, family and friends. There is no charge for this event. Please bring along something to share for the evening meal. We will will accept donations to Kinderschule and are happy to provide tax receipts.
